I've played in alot of hockey leagues in my life and this league i'm very impressed with. The refs are on top of the game and dont let them get out of control.I believe a league is only as good as the refs. Now sometimes things get out of control and its not the fault of the refs.In the Ram Law-Snipers game the other day a fight broke out at the end.It happens, but the actions of #25 on the Snipers i believe call for more then 2 games. The kid came running from off the bench and tried to jump a guy from behind.Coming off the bench can never be tolerated.I dont understand how he only received 2 games along with the other 3 players. It has to be controlled now and i believe a more severe suspension should have been handed out.Give him 5-7 games and it wont happen again.Understand i know very little people in this league and have no problems with any team. Just an a thought from someone who has ran many a leagues. |

| Unfortunately the situation was not as black and white as the comment was made. If there are any questions or concerns as far as any suspensions they can email or talk to Tim. He will be more than happy to answer any questions. |

| I did email Tim but got no response. Maybe lost in shuffle. The suspensions are what they are but the purpose should be to prevent it from happening again.People going after people after games like this week isnt good for the league. |

Hey Rob. If you are referring to myself, I do not think that is a fair assesment of what really happened. But since you brought it up, allow me to state my opinion if you will. Let me tell you what is not "good" for this league as you state. (in bulletpoint format to satisfy Professor Lackey) Someone who talks so much shit on the court and takes runs at you trying to be a bad ass and make some sort of name for himself. Someone who, AFTER THE GAME is over, continues that sort of trash talk, even to the extent of calling you a pussy, and daring you to get in an altercation with him. Someone who thinks he has the skills of his brother, and is so far from it that it is sort of sad he thinks he will be as good as John is. Someone who, over the years, has exuded the same type of behavior he did on Sunday to so many teams, each whom has had the same response (actually more so) than I did on Sunday. Now I am a big boy and can handle any of the examples given above, but if you are going to try to be some kind of big player and do these things, at least have the skills or ability to back up what you are doing and saying, and not end up on your back bitching to the refs like a little girl. Now you might think that this is a good type of player, or a great teammate to have on your squad. Truth of the matter is people like Derek are NOT good for any team, or this league at all if he is, week in and week out, going to bring his bullshit to the rink with him. He is an antagonist, a gnat or whatever you want to label him as. But whatever you do call him, try to leave out the terms "hockey player" and more so "man" because he is far from being both. Although you have played with him at Foxchase in the past, this is your first year here and it is a different league with different rules and culture. It is good to have you here--you are a great player with mad skills and one who can bakc up his talk on the court; but with all due respect, if you are going to suggest suspensions for people, have all the facts and look at both sides of the coin. You and I had our altercation in game 1 this year, and afterwards, we shook hands like men and let it go--no trash talk afterwards or continuing bullshit talk to each other. The way it should be. Not the way it was with #37; he just does not know how to keep his mouth shut. No matter how many examples are set for bugs like that, some people will never learn. Dey #33 |

Let me add one more thing if I may. I am in no way "calling anyone out". As far as I am concerned, what happened last week is just exactly that--last week. That does not change the character of the person in question however, and the problem with this is that it will continue to be an issue as long as he is around--with our team, with Marty's, with Ram Law, the whole league; in fact anyone he chooses to shoot his mouth off at. The point of the post is to see both side sides before calling for suspensions of people. Rob, if you knew me 10 years ago, if you knew our league 10 years ago, you would see different hockey--I was the one taking runs at people with intention as was everyone else in this league at the time. In fact, there were the classic Princeton Armor vs. Villa Park games that the whole league would come out and watch at Bromley to see how would run at who, and who would fight who. Some days was just pure chaos. But in the end we could back our actions up with our play--the entire league could; and we all learned from this and all grew up for the most part. Some people though are still stuck being a kid and will never get it. Hockey is an extremely emotional game, played with fire and intensity, even in a recreational league like this one. I (oddly) in no way advocate violence at all anymore. As I said before in previous posts, most of us have grown up and now have families to take care of. Emotions during games do run high, but there are alternative ways to show intensity--taking shots is not one of them. I do not take shots anymore unless I am the one being targeted with cheap shots like the ones received on Sunday; trash talk is fun and part of the game. Slashing, spearing, high sticking, getting your stick up in my face and trying to run at and through you is not however, at least in this league. These are the things Derek was trying to do to me on Sunday and these types of things Sir, are the ones that are NOT good for this league. Take the bush league shit elsewhere. If you were at the game and had eyes, you would understand where I am coming from. Again as I said before, it is a done issue, at least with me. But if he continues to be the player he is, he will be facing the same problems with the other teams in this league. Dey #33 |

Hey Brian, Before this gets blown out of hand, I missed the incident on Sunday. So I dont know who's at fault because i'm sure Derrick had things to say during that altercation.I hate the whole fighting after game stuff. It's a game that gets rough but afterwards it should be over.I agree that Derricks behavior on the court was embarrassing to our team.We have discussed this with him.Let alone no ref will give him a call the way he behaves. Those incidents have been under control this year and he is a good kid.I also believe he's a good teammate.Saying that I wasnt calling for a suspension and dont think any should have been handed out.Something was mentioned by the Commish and I believe that was the correct action.I love the way you and the Savoys team plays the game and have nothing but respect foryou and your team. And i've played with you in Foxchase and have no bad words for you.I just hate to see those parking lot incidents that can get very dangerous.I guess thats it and good luck on Sunday. |

| And after reading it i wasnt referring to this when i spoke of suspensions. I was talking about the ram law-Snipers game and never sent or spoke to tim about derrick and your incident. Like i stated I wasnt there so i'm getting the story only through my players. |
